I’m Lisa Summerscales.

I’m originally from Bradford and now live in Leeds with my husband, Nick.

I’ve worked in marketing and communications since I left university over 20 years ago. My degree was in Sports Science, but I fell into marketing through a temp job and loved it. So, after deciding this was the career for me, I became qualified with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

It’s safe to say that when it comes to marketing and communications, I’ve been there, done that, and literally bought the branded t-shirts!

I’ve worked in the education, facilities management, and technology sectors, rising to executive positions and holding responsibility for marketing and communications departments. I’ve managed teams of talented individuals and collaborated on significant global contracts with prestigious clients such as Unilever and Johnson & Johnson.

The combination of marketing and communications means I take the needs of diverse stakeholders, simplify information to make it relatable and meaningful, and create engaging materials to get the message across.

I love sport. I’ve played hockey for over 30 years and recently took up golf. I also like music and going to festivals – every year, I go through the struggle of trying to get Glastonbury tickets (if you know, you know)!

My maiden name is McLaren. People still call me Mac or Macca, and I’ve always liked how this word looks when written.
